  The name Indie comes from the word Independent
  
  Indie was originally a name given to small independent record labels in the UK, and then subsequently became a name given to a style of music being produced from these record labels. An Indie record label was simply an independent business doing what its corporate cousins struggle to do. .
  
  Indie, or Independent. Meaning Separate and different from the rest, non-corporate, free of mind and free to express oneself as an individual without being categorised. Free to conduct business with an Independent and non corporate attitude
  
  In musical terms Indie music is always changing and developing. Always guitar based or influenced, and always fiercely Independent.
  
  The Indie Guitar Company at Indie manufacture our guitars with this same Independent belief. Our products are aimed at a musician who wants a quality instrument that plays well, looks cool and is affordable. Our customer base is always an Indie (Independent) type person, a musician or individual that is free of mind and chooses not to follow the masses! A guitarist with a bit of attitude!
  
  The Indie Guitar Company manufactures Indie Guitars. We are not a factory hopper, We are an independent guitar factory. 9 years ago we searched for and found a factory in South Korea. This factory had previously been manufacturing guitars and amplifiers for some 15 years.. and for all the major brand names, it was well established in Korea.
  
  We had a common interest, the factory needed its own brand name and we needed a factory. We found that we shared some very strong core values about business, music and guitars. So we decided to invest into each other, form one company and concentrate on spreading the Indie Brand and message worldwide.
  
  Indies main Offices are in the UK , USA & Canada, and the Manufacturing Facility is in South Korea. We believe it is a perfect mix!. The UK/USA Musical creativity and design - mixed with the manufacturing excellence of South Korea. We actually have 3 factories, Electric guitars, Acoustic guitars and my personal favourite a separate guitar Pick-up factory. All Indie, and all fiercely independent.
  
  We actively look for, and appoint Dealers and Distributors who have the same Independent values and the same feeling about the music industry!
  We are proud to only supply independent retailers, worldwide!. The comforting fact is that although Indie retailers come in all shapes and sizes, speak various international languages and enjoy different styles of Music , they are all have at least 3 things in common. They are all non corporate , they all value the customer (The Guitar Player), and they love what they do (most of the time)
  
  The Indie family is growing steadily. We currently export in 18 countries and we predict that Indie will be available in 30 or more countries, within the next 3 to 5 years.
  
  
  The Core ingredients? We put the musician first, and The Music is King!
  This ensures that every individual guitar manufactured is very important. Because guitars are not just a business commodity, (although we all need money to survive in business), they are all important to the individual that ultimately owns, plays and loves them.
  
  Our Electric Guitar range is focused around the unique IndieShape guitar, designed as an original product by Indie and a few great copy models.
  The Indie Shape is based on two very famous but corporate guitar brands, both of which were always very important to us as guitar players. We wanted to create what we believe is the best of both!
  The Indie Shape is very familiar. It is a guitar range that covers a wide spectrum of styles, high quality and affordable. It sells through in store, it is non competitive.. it is not a copy.
  
  We believe that the Indie Guitars say everything about being Independent. They are of High Quality, have a style of there own that is acceptable to the majority.
