TMMFC is the nation’s leading cooperatives federation, owned by farmers, unions and cooperatives across Tigray regional States. It is engaged in the growth and export of pulses and oil seeds to the global market.. TMMFC is formed in 2009 and serves approximately 36 unions constituting 382 primary cooperative members whose farms are located throughout Tigray (North of Ethiopia). Since its formation, TMMFC has been committed to supply top quality products to its customers while ameliorating the success of its smallholder farmer. TMMFC is mainly engaged in exporting oil seeds and pulses and imports agricultural inputs. Since 2010, the federation has been able to export: 25, 000MTs of sesame, 1200MTs of sorghum and 16MTs of Natural gum worth of more than USD 40, 000, 000.00 in total. As the overall performance is outstanding and promising, TMMFC is planning to engage in sesame hulling, live stock production, and other agro-processing businesses.
