While in port, In addition to loading and unloading cargo, there are stores to be taken, crew changes, inspections and during vessels operations one Transchem representative is stand-by on the vessel all the time, and is responsible for all operations, for communication with the Master, Chief Mate, Supercargo, owner&＃039;s or appointed owner&＃039;s representative, as well as for contacts with shippers, port authorities, etc. Both the Cargo Monitoring and Readiness Sector as well as the Pre-Stacking Sector, have the responsibility for monitoring cargo received at the terminals leased by the Company, for checking their physical condition upon receipt, for determining its storage by destination and weight, for controlling their transportation to ship&＃039;s side in accordance with the operational plans done prior to vessel&＃039;s berthing, for keeping both Owners and Agents informed as to the several stages of the ship&＃039;s operation. The operations are carried out at any public berth of CODESP, and the invoicing system used is either a fixed price per ton for general, bulk cargo, Ro-Ro units, containers, project cargo or based on re-pass of actual costs with administration fee, enhancing flexibility to attend specific needs of each client.
