Trenk Coffee Estates Limited is a family business founded by thefamily patriach, Trenk Trenk Coffee Estates Limitedkesa, who planted a few coffee bushes onthe family farm in the western  region of Kenya, BungomaCounty. The coffee bushes ware on a small farm because there hadbeen a goverment restriction on planting of coffee by the colonialgovernment.After Kenya gained independence the government removed therestrictions on the planting of coffee by indeginious Kenyans, Mr.Trenk added more coffee stems and expanded his coffee farmingventure. Trenk ran the farm with the help of his large family uptothe late nineties then retired and left the running of the businessto his son Walter.Walter Trenk on his part decided to modernize the coffee farmingbusiness by opening an office in Nairobi and taking a coffeedealership license in order to access the international coffeemarket and improve the quality of the farm and the businessgenerally.The business has therefore been in existance for the last halhcentury and is still growing stronger. We now deal with coffeebeans from our farm in Bungoma County and also purchase extracoffee from the Nairobi Coffee Exchange whenerver the orders arebigger than what is available on our farm.
