Union of Pecan Producers from the State of Chihuahua (Unión de Nogaleros del Estado de Chihuahua) This private organization which is recognized by Mexican authorities represents, through local associations, pecan producers from more than 463 pecan orchards, covering a total amount of 42,000 hectares (103,000 acres) across the northern state of Chihuahua, México, with an annual production of 60,000 tons of in-shell pecans. Pecan nuts (noix de pécan) from the state of Chihuahua, which derive from a successful blend of Wichita and Union Of Pecan Producers From The State Of Chih...stern Schley varieties, are highly recognized around the world for its great taste, golden-brown color, high yield (average 56%) and oil quantity. Furthermore, pecans from this northern state are well-known to have a better quality compared to those produced in Texas, Nuevo Mexico and Georgia in the United States. The Union of Pecan Producers from the State of Chihuahua was established fifteen years ago and has since represented 60% of Mexico’s total annual pecan exports, which are mainly intended for the US market (80%) leaving its remaining production for domestic consumption. Presently, the union’s council is represented by locally-elected renowned pecan producers who hold the responsibility on account of all its members. The current management includes: President: CP.
