The Ojibway people of Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, have been harvesting and processing wild rice, before the Treaty was signed in 1873. To this day, the community still has traditional pickers, as Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nationll as mechanized harvesters. Wabigoon lake has a wild processing plant in the community, that can produce more than 100, 000 lbs of finished product. The plant uses poplar fired parchers that gives our rice, a natural taste, that is second to none.... If you would like rice, that was cooked the traditional way, many of the people still practice that tradition.
