Group Profile Younus Group of Industries Younus Group is a Younus Groull-known and fast growing conglomerate in the industrial arena of the country. It started its journey with a cold storage. Gradually the Group expanded its business into diversified sector through establishing different business and industrial units under one umbrella in quick succession. The group has been operating at present with 25 business units. The Group has enlarged its business to 7 paper mills, 11 cold storages, 2 plastic goods manufacturing companies, 3 trading concerns, 1 spinning mills and 1 potato flakes producing company. The factory together with warehouses for raw materials, stores and finished products for paper mills are located mainly at Narayangonj and all the cold storage companies along with potato flakes producing company are located at Munshigonj.Economies of scales from 7 paper mills having auxiliary facility including indenting, captive power generation, warehouse and transportation along with huge market demand reflecting in cash sales eventually support the Group to develop formidable edge in terms of cost efficiency and growth opportunities, which will eventually ensure further improvement of business strength of the group. Younus Group has employed a significant number of people who are working together at head Office and in industrial/business units towards industrialization and development of the country through creating employment opportunity, saving valuable foreign currency and reducing import dependency By its products. Presently 4, 000 people are employed in various units of the Group.Ananta Paper Mills Ltd: Ananta Paper Mills Limited is a private Limited Company and one of the oldest concerns of Younus Group. It was incorporated in 1988 with a view to manufacturing Kraft paper, newsprint & white newsprint paper. The company, having long business relationship along with its other six concerns in the paper manufacturing industry, sells the product in the local market to paper traders and agents. The present production capacity of the Company is 7, 300 MT With 4 pulpers. The factory of the company is located at Mithabo, Rupgonj, Narayangonj on the total land area of 196 decimals. Younus Paper Mills Ltd: Younus Paper Mills Limited, a private Limited Company and one of the latest concerns of Younus Group, was incorporated in Bangladesh in 2002 with a view to manufacturing different types of papers including writing paper, newsprint paper & white newsprint paper, special papers, Kraft paper, tissue paper, toilet paper, cigarette paper, decorative paper, combustible tissue paper, packing paper and coated paper in rolls or sheets from locally procured raw materials. YPML sells its product in the local market to paper traders and agents with whom it has long business relationship .The factory is equipped with French technological machineries having annual production capacity of the Company is 35, 200 MT. The factory of the company is located at Rupgonj, Narayangonj on the total land area of 196 decimals.Sonali Paper & Board Mills Ltd: Sonali Paper & Board Mills Limited is a public Limited Company. Which was incorporated in Bangladesh in 1978 with a view to manufacturing board paper (Liner, Media, Simplex and Duplex) and writing paper (white newsprint and newsprint). The company, having long business relationship, sells its product in the local market to paper traders and agents. The factory is equipped with Japanese machineries. The present production capacity of the Company is 33, 500 MT With 6 pulpers. The factory of the company is located at Rupgonj, Narayangonj on the total land area of 6.65 acres.Younus Newsprint Mills Ltd: Younus Newsprint Mills Limited is a private Limited Company and one of the latest concerns of Younus Group, was incorporated in Bangladesh in 2006 with a view to manufacturing different types of papers including writing paper, newsprint paper & white newsprint paper, special papers, Kraft paper, tissue paper, toilet paper, cigarette paper, decorative paper, combustible tissue paper, packing paper and coated paper in rolls or sheets from locally procured raw materials. YNPML sells its product in the local market to paper traders and agents with whom it has long business relationship .The factory is equipped with French technological machineries having annual production capacity of the Company is 18, 000 MT. The factory of the company is located at Rupgonj, Narayangonj on the total land area of 196 decimals.Younus Fine Paper Mills Ltd: Younus Fine Paper Mills Limited is a private Limited Company and one of the latest concerns of Younus Group, was incorporated in Bangladesh in 2006 with a view to manufacturing different types of papers including writing paper, newsprint paper & white newsprint paper, special papers, Kraft paper, tissue paper, toilet paper, cigarette paper, decorative paper, combustible tissue paper, packing paper and coated paper in rolls or sheets from locally procured raw materials. YFPML sells its product in the local market to paper traders and agents with whom it has long business relationship .The factory is equipped with Japanese technological machineries. The present production capacity of the Company is 10, 800 MT with 6 pulpers. Presently YOPML is producing newsprint and white newsprint paper. The company like its other 6 concerns in the paper manufacturing industry, sells its product in the local market to paper traders and agents having long business relationship .The factory is equipped with Chinese and Japanese technological machineries. The present production capacity of the Company is 18, 600 MT with 4 pulpers. The factory of the company is located at Rupgonj, Narayangonj on the total land area of 196 decimals.Universal Paper & Board Mills Limited: Universal Paper & Board Mills Limited is a private limited company and one of the latest concerns of Younus Group, was acquired by the Group in March 2007 with a view to manufacturing board paper (liner, media simplex and duplex) and writing paper (white and news) in rolls sheets from locally procured raw materials. Presently it is producing only Media board paper. The company like its other six concerns in the paper manufacturing industry sells its product in the local market to paper traders and agents. The factory is equipped with Chinese machineries. The present production capacity of the Company is 1, 800 MT with 2 pulpers. The factory of the company is located at BISCIC Shilpa Nagari, Konabari, Gazipur on the land area of 20.7 decimals.Sobhan Ice & Cold Storage Limited: Sobhan Ice & Cold Storage Limited is a private company and first cold storage of Younus Group. It was incorporated in 1979 with a view to preserve potato. The factory of the Company is located at Tongibari, Munshigonj on total land area of 1.53 acre having total preservation capacity of 6400 MT.Younus Specialized Cold Storage Limited: Younus Specialized Cold Storage Limited was incorporated in 1993 as a private limited company. The factory of the Company is located at Tongibari, Munshigonj on total land area of 1.53 acre having total preservation capacity of 6400 MT.Younus Cold Storage Limited: Younus Cold Storage Limited was incorporated in 1996 as a private limited company. The factory of the company is located at Tongibari of Munshigonj on the total land area of 1.19 acre having total preservation capacity of 8, 000 MT. Siddeshawari Cold Storage Limited: Siddeshawari Cold Storage Limited was incorporated in 1993 as a private limited company. The factory of the company is located at Tongibari of Munshigonj on total land area of 3.83 acre having total preservation capacity of 14, 400 MT.Akco Cold Storage Limited: Younus Group acquired Akco Cold Storage Limited in 2011, which was initially incorporated in 1963 as a private limited company. After acquisition, present management has conducted substantial renovation to ensure the quality of preserved potatoes. The company has already started to preserve potatoes for 2012. The factory of the company is located at Tongibari of Munshigonj on the total land area of 2.06 acre having total preservation capacity of 6, 800 MT. Europa Cold Storage Limited: Europa Cold Storage Limited was incorporated in 1994 as a private limited company. The factory of the company is located at Niarpukurpar of Munshigonj on the total land area of 1.45 acre having total preservation capacity of 10, 000 MT. Combined Food & Cold Storage Limited: Combined Food & Cold Storage Limited was incorporated in 1997 as a private limited company. The factory of the company is located at Tostipur, Baligaon, Tongibari, Munshigonj on the total land area of 1.57 acre having total preservation capacity of 10, 000 MT. Bikrampur Potato Flakes Industries Limited: Bikrampur Potato Flakes Industries Limited was incorporated in 1998 as a private limited company. The factory of the company is located at West Mukterpur of Munshigonj on the total land area of 3.28 acre. The present production capacity of the Company is 7, 200 MT Flakes, which needs 43, 200 MT fresh Potato. It is a very important things for our agricultural Department. Younus Spinning Mills Limited: Younus Spinning Mills Limited is a private limited company, commenced its commercial operation under Younus Group in June 2005. It has the facility of manufacturing cotton yarn of different counts, which range from 15c to 50c from locally procured raw materials. The Company sells its product in the local market mostly to different yarn traders. The main machineries of the company were imported from India. Annual production capacity of the Company is 4.2 million lbs yarn under ring unit and 3.15 million lbs yarn under rotor unit with 39, 396 spindles. . The factory of the company is located at Rupgonj, Narayangonj on the total land area of 205 decimals.M/S United Traders: M/S United Traders was being it business in 2004 as a sole proprietorship Trading business to provide backward linkage support to paper manufacturing companies of the Younus Group which was promoted by Mr. Mohammed Younus, the proprietor of the firm. It imports pulp & chemical from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and China and procures waste paper locally. The Firm sells its trading items to its seven sister concerns of paper manufacturing companies and other paper mills around the country. The Firm is involved in trading business of waste paper, pulp and chemical for producing quality paper. Mr. Younus is a member of NCID (National Council for Industrial Development). Honorable Prime Minister is the Chairperson of this committee. He has been awarded Desh Bandhu Chittaranjan Das Gold Medal for Industrialization in our country and this Medal was handed over by the Honorable President of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh in the year 1993. Mr. Mohammed Younus is a Sponsor Shareholder of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd., a leading private Bank in Bangladesh. He is the Member of Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka. He is a life member of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industries. He was elected as member, Executive Committee of FBCCI (Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries) and Chairman, standing Committee on Petro-Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry. He was also the President of Bangladesh PVC Pipe Manufacturers Association and Bangladesh Nylon Yarn Manufacturers Association. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Cold Storage Association. He was the President of Lions Club of New Eskaton Garden, Dhaka. He was the President of Sarnagram R.N. High School, Tongibari, Munshigonj. Mr. Younus widely travelled around the world for his business and personal tour.
