YOUTH for AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENTINITIATIVEINTRODUCTIONThis is a community based organization aimingto promote agriculture, improve agricultural production andenvironment protection through youth engagement, skills andknowledge.Ithas been foundedand will be built on youth researchers who arefresh graduates in University of Rwanda, College of AgricultureAnimal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. The project aim is tocarry out intensive and high turnover production of a small area,while providing work and leadership experience for localyouth.This organization was thought to be establishedbased on different governmental programs aiming to developagricultural sector hence a general development to achieve itsvision: EDPRS 2 in its Priority Area 2: Increasing the Productivity of Agriculture: The agricultural sector remains the sector with the greatest potential to reduce poverty in Rwanda and ensure that growth is inclusive in EDPRS and Rwandan agriculture will move from a largely subsistence to a commercialized base building on the sector’s comparative advantage ¨ Millennium Development Goals: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger (goal one) National Employment Program (Kora Wigire) Environment protection and Employment promotion for reducing unemployment rate  Inefficiency use of land, access to land, lowtechnology in agriculture, access to market, low productionquality, engagement in policy making, access to financial services,access to knowledge information and education are the majorchallenges faced by youth in agriculture as some have beenpresented in the FAO research(“Youth and agriculture: Keychallenges and concrete solutions:2014”).OBJECTIVES Youth engagement in agriculture (both educated or not) Professionalism in agriculture Efficiency use of land Boost entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity Increase of agricultural production through new technologies Environment protection and amelioration  MISSIONSpread agriculture and environment information,experience and facts to the community to inspire change for thepursuit of entrepreneurship in youth agripreneurs and thecommunity.VISIONTransforming traditional subsistenceagriculture into agribusiness through youth innovations as skilledand potential YOUTH for AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (in registration processes)apon for leading the change toward subsistencelivelihood.
